Rob and I got our Catskill 3500 patch last year, and decided to get our winter patch this year as well (meaning climb all 35 peaks in the winter!)
We returned this weekend to make a dent in the remaining peaks. On Friday, we climbed Friday and Balsam Cap mountains, and on Saturday, we finished Peekamoose and Table mountains. Between the snow, ice and elevation, we managed to use the spikes, crampons and snowshoes as well.
Miles of frosted evergreens, exposed rock ledges and 20-foot icicles are among the most beautiful features of the Catskills‘ incredible trails.
